Description

The Rope is more than the story of one family: it is also the story of a town and of the men and women who worked in the factory. Irish ropes can rightly claim a place in Ireland’s industrial history and its first 50 years as an independent State.

The company also had a distinctly international dimension… Sisal, the raw material was imported from east Africa and finished goods were imported around the world. Red Setter and Tintawn became iconic and internationally recognised brands.  – Robert Rigby – Jones
